What to do, what to do....

So, Spring is fast approaching, and Colin is four. Officially old enough to "do" something.

Should we go for soccer or t-ball?? I still need to look around at the different programs in our area to see what's offered. It may turn out that the time of the activity is the deciding factor based on naps and our church schedule.

I also may see if some of his friends are playing and go with that sport simply because there will be someone there that he knows. Colin is not really comfortable in new situations with all new people. I'm hoping that knowing someone on the team will help ease him in to the "team" set-up.

Any thoughts blog friends?? Any experience with soccer and or t-ball??

I don't know what it's like where you live but out here, kids have to be five to play Little League T-ball.
My son loves soccer. He's trying t-ball this spring. I'll let you know how it goes.

OneHung has never been an advocate of T-ball. OHM played baseball since he was old enough to start remembering things, and thus finds it blasphemous to hit off a tee (unless it's golf).

Same goes with soccer, and OHM finds it completely effing boring. However, watching a four-year old is probably very entertaining. In addition, it will wear Colin out, which should make those nights much easier at home with a worn out child.

Well, we got ambitious and signed Jacob up at the y when he was three and a half. That didn't go well at all. This year he did a different soccer league and did better athletically, but the games were too long to hold his attention and he pretty much laid down in the field toward the ends and gave up. I guess it would depend on how interested your kid is in playing sports. I would figure a kid who really likes to play ball would do well.

Soccer gets my vote. Though, my sister's boys loved t-ball (well, Sam did more than Drew). Why not do 'em both to see which he prefers?

Totally not a sport, but...
Does a church around you guys have AWANA? I bet he'd love Cubbies. E loooooves it!
